Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions
The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Drilling and Production and manage related laboratories (drilling, completions, stimulation and workovers). The candidate should have earned a doctorate in petroleum engineering or closely related field by August, 2022. Prior experience as a lecturer, teaching assistant, or grader in graduate or undergraduate courses in drilling engineering and lab, environmental law/social responsibility, reservoir fluids lab, petrophysics and rock properties is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience the oil and gas industry, including field experience, is required. Industry experience should include: company supervision/management with teamwork emphasis; project economic evaluation with data analytics; design, optimization, and deployment of drilling, completion and workover operations; regulatory permitting; hydraulic fracturing and acidizing. Research experience in completions and stimulations required. The ability to generate research funding and advising master's and Ph.D. will be a plus. This position is for tenure track at the level of assistant professor.

Required Qualifications
The candidate should have earned a doctorate in petroleum engineering or closely related field by August, 2022.

Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidates intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity.
